Titans Hold On For Win Over Green Knights

Tyler Kozlowski drove in three runs during UW-Oshkosh's 6-5 victory over St. Norbert College on Sunday (April 27) at Tiedemann Field.

Ben Messenger and James Lacy came up clutch with the game's final six outs. Messenger had the bases loaded and nobody out before inducing a foul out and a double play. Lacy (save) then retired the Green Knights 1-2-3 in the ninth inning.

St. Norbert (16-14) went ahead in the second inning, with Jose Godinez scoring on a UW-Oshkosh error.

The Titans (15-14) came back with three runs in the bottom half. After Skyler Bohn marked an RBI single, Kozlowski plated two with his single for a 3-1 lead.

UW-Oshkosh upped its advantage to 6-2 during the fourth. All three runs were unearned, with Kozlowski and Zac Peterson each booking a run-scoring single.

Nick Pierre and Derek Klegin drove in runs with groundouts in the fifth frame to make it 6-4.

During the eighth, a pair of singles set up Travis Mason's RBI that pulled the Green Knights within one.

Peter Jewell tossed the first seven innings, allowing four earned runs, for the victory.

St. Norbert had Brett Nohr take the loss after he surrendered six runs (one earned) in four frames. Jake McMahon closed out the game with four scoreless innings.

Kozlowski and Trent Whitcomb each totaled three hits for the Titans. Pierre compiled two hits and two runs for the Green Knights.
