Mules Outwork Titans In Florida Finale

Every Colby College batter recorded a hit during its 10-4 win over the UW-Oshkosh baseball team on Saturday (March 29) in Winter Haven, Fla.

This was the last of 10 games on the Titans' season-opening trip. UW-Oshkosh (7-3) will face No. 2 UW-Stevens Point on Tuesday (April 1) in Mauston. The doubleheader site was changed due to poor field conditions in Oshkosh.

Colby College (8-2) was led by Kevin Galvin, who marked a two-run double in the sixth inning and a solo homer in the third. Galvin and Ryder Arsenault each finished with three hits.

Alec Finigan got the scoring started with a three-run blast in the third frame. Moments later, Andrew Della Volpe singled home a run to make it 5-0.

The Titans chipped away with Trent Whitcomb's RBI single in the third. During the fourth, UW-Oshkosh pulled within 6-4 after run-scoring hits by Trey Demler, Jake Dostalek and Neil Hebert.

Lucas Geoghegan pitched three scoreless innings to earn the save. Soren Hanson captured the win with seven strikeouts and three earned runs in six frames.

Travis Sindles took the loss after yielding four ER in 2.2 innings. Shane Hayes threw next and allowed four ER with three strikeouts over four frames.
