UW-Oshkosh Athletics To Host Celebration Of Champions Concert

The Celebration of Champions, a fundraising concert hosted by the UW-Oshkosh football and men’s basketball programs, will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Fox River Brewing Company (1501 Arboretum Drive) in Oshkosh.

The 7 p.m. event is the first of its kind for the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department.

Chicago-based band Exit 147 will be the featured entertainment. Exit 147, one of Chicago’s top cover bands, includes Jim Tinaglia, father of UW-Oshkosh football player Nick Tinaglia. The band plays music from the likes of Bon Jovi, Big & Rich, Kid Rock, Doobie Brothers, The Killers, U2, Neon Trees, Lynard Skynyrd, Journey, Van Halen and Cheap Trick.

The Celebration of Champions is an evening to celebrate the accomplishments of UW-Oshkosh athletics, specifically football and men’s basketball. It also is a fundraiser to support the Titans when they reach their goal of playing for a national championship. The money raised will help offset costs when a team is in contention for a national championship.

“We are excited about the inaugural Celebration of Champions,” UW-Oshkosh head football coach Pat Cerroni said. “We are grateful that Exit 147 and Fox River Brewing Company agreed to partner with us on this event. It be an evening to showcase the success of Titan athletics and an event for the University to celebrate Titan pride with the Fox Valley community.”

The UW-Oshkosh football team played for its first-ever national championship in 2016 and was one score away from playing for the national title again in 2017.

The UW-Oshkosh men’s basketball team reached the Final Four for the second time in school history last March and advanced to the national championship contest.

Only 300 tickets for the Celebration of Champions will be sold. The tickets cost $30 each and includes one free drink.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department, the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau and from any UW-Oshkosh football or men’s basketball player. Unsold tickets will be available for purchase at the event for $35.
