Titans To Hold Food Drive, Offer Free Basketball Admission

The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department will hold a food drive and offer free admission to both of its basketball games on Wednesday (Dec. 31) in Kolf Sports Center.

The UW-Oshkosh men play Carthage College at 1 p.m. while the 12th-ranked Titan women play Ripon College at 3:30 p.m.

Nonperishable food items donated during the games will go to the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry as a holiday gift from UW-Oshkosh Athletics.

This is the third food drive effort by the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department this holiday season. More than 650 food items were donated to the local pantry during the recent Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Food Drive Challenge and more than 20,000 pounds of food was distributed during the Feeding America mobile food pantry event held Dec. 19 in Kolf Sports Center.

“This is a way for us to give back to our local community," said UW-Oshkosh Director of Athletics Darryl Sims. "It’s very important for our student-athletes, faculty and staff to participate in causes that allow us to give back."
