UW-Oshkosh Student-Athletes To Be Honored At Oshcars

The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department celebrates an evening of success and amazing accomplishments when it hosts the Oshcars on Monday, April 30 at The Grand Opera House (100 High Avenue) in Oshkosh.

The inaugural event will honor the 500-plus student-athletes, including 104 seniors, who have represented the Titans during the 2017-18 academic year and recognize their achievements in competition, in the classroom and in the community.

"The Oshcars is something that we’ve wanted to do for the past few years and I am so glad that it will be happening this year," UW-Oshkosh Associate Director of Athletics Vicci Stimac said. “We have so many young men and women performing at a high level on the playing surfaces, in the classroom, and out in the community, and we feel it is important to highlight those efforts.”

Nearly 20 awards will be presented, including the John Taylor Award to the outstanding male & female senior scholar-athlete. Other awards include Newcomer of the Year, Hometown Hero, and Award of Academic Excellence.

Doors open for the event at 6:15 p.m. The presentation of awards begins at 7 p.m.

The formal attire event is for UW-Oshkosh student-athletes and UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department staff members only.
