Back Row (L-R): Jim Gasper (Mike Gasper inductee), Nata Wara, David Christman, Chris Hansman, Derek Kasten The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1974 to enhance school tradition and give lasting recognition to those student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and friends of the university who distinguished themself at an exemplary level. Each hall of fame member represents greatness, with their accomplishments built on campus, after graduation or through meritorious efforts that benefit the UW-Oshkosh athletics program. The hall of fame will help preserve the storied history of the UW-Oshkosh athletics program while creating a unique connection between the decades of celebrated inductees who represented and continue to represent Titan Nation. The first UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held April 28, 1974, at The Pioneer Inn & Marina. The five inductees were Edward Boguski, Edward Hall, Burton Karges, Robert Kolf and Robert Williams. Four venues have hosted the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony – The Pioneer Inn & Marina (1974-2001), Hilton Garden Inn Oshkosh (2002), UW-Oshkosh's Reeve Memorial Union (2003-13) and UW-Oshkosh's Culver Family Welcome Center (2014-19, 2021-Present). The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Hall of Fame inducts new members each year. Inductees may come from the categories of Student-Athlete, Coach (head or assistant), Administrator or Distinguished Service/Contributor. Student-Athlete: Eligible for induction 10 years after their last season of participation at UW-Oshkosh. Coach (Head or Assistant): Eligible for induction two years after their last season of involvement (unless a former UW-Oshkosh student-athlete). Candidates must have been a coach at UW-Oshkosh for at least 10 years (only UW-Oshkosh tenure shall be considered). Administrator: Eligible for induction two years after their last season of involvement (unless a former UW-Oshkosh student-athlete). Candidates must have been an administrator at UW-Oshkosh for at least 10 years (only UW-Oshkosh tenure shall be considered). Distinguished Service/Contributor: Candidates must have made a broad spectrum of significant contributions to the UW-Oshkosh athletics program in roles other than being a student-athlete, coach, or administrator. Candidate’s long (minimum of 10 years), prominent, and faithful contribution of volunteering at events, serving on committees and in some cases, providing financial support, have helped UW-Oshkosh provide quality experiences to its student-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, and fans. Candidates are then placed into one of three divisions based on their last date of participation/involvement – Men’s Legacy Era (1990 last participation end date), Women’s Legacy Era (2000 last participation end date) and Men’s (1991-present) & Women’s (2001-present) Contemporary Era for hall of fame consideration.
